Brian Miller -- Head Coach

The 2023 season will be Coach Miller's 4th season as Head Coach for Worthington Kilbourne Lacrosse.  He was officially named Head Coach in summer 2019 after serving as Assistant Head Coach for the Wolves during the spring 2019 season.  As Assistant Head Coach, Miller helped lead to the Wolves to the Regional Final in the OHSAA tournament and finish with a record of 17-5. 

Coach Miller has been a coach on staff for many years for Kilbourne Lacrosse.  In addition he is a proud alumni of WKHS and the Kilbourne Lacrosse program.  As a coach, he has served as Midfield and Transition Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach. 

As a player, he earned All-State honors and played midfield for the Wolves.  He graduated in 2012.  Coach Miller went on to play four seasons of lacrosse at Denison University.  He lettered all 4 years and  was voted captain in 2016.

Sean Ryan -- Offensive Coordinator

2023 will be Coach Ryan's 4th season at Worthington Kilbourne as Offensive Coordinator & Attack Coach.  

Most recently during his distinguished coaching career, Coach Ryan served for 3 years as Offensive Coordinator at Dublin Coffman where he helped Dublin Coffman win the 2019 OHSAA Division I State Championship.  He was named OCC Assistant Coach of the Year back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018. 

Previously, Coach Ryan was Head Coach at Ohio Wesleyan University for 10 years. During his tenure at OWU, the Battling Bishops captured 8 NCAC Championships, advanced to the NCAA Tournament 8 times and produced 24 All-Americans.  Coach Ryan was named NCAC Coach of the Year 4 times and finished his career as the all-time winningest coach at Ohio Wesleyan.

After completing his college coaching career, Ryan has remained very active in the Central Ohio lacrosse community.  He helped launch high school lacrosse in Delaware, Ohio.  In 2012 and 2013, as Head Coach at Delaware Hayes, he led the Pacers to back-to-back club State Championships and was named 2013 OHSLA High School Coach of the Year.  He also has served in various coaching capacities at Thomas Worthington (2015) and Hilliard Davidson (2016). 

Ryan is a native of Upstate New York and played high school lacrosse at Fayetteville - Manlius.  In college, Ryan played at Rochester Institute of Technology where he was a 3 year starter at attack and played in the prestigious Senior North - South All Star game.

Coach Ryan lives in Worthington with his wife Amber and two sons Declan and Liam.

The 2023 season will be Coach Watson's eighth year within the program, and fifth with the high school. 

Coach Watson is an offensive assistant coach for varsity.  In 2019, Coach Watson served as Offensive Coordinator.    

Coach Watson is a 2014 graduate of Worthington Kilbourne HS and prior to joining the Kilbourne staff he coached lacrosse at McCord Middle School.

Ben Groff -- Varsity Assistant

Coach Groff will serve as Varsity Assistant for 2023.  This is Coach Groff's 6th year with the WKHS Program.  In the past Coach Groff has also served as Defensive Coordinator for Kilbourne Lacrosse.  

Coach Groff is a 2008 graduate of Worthington Kilbourne.  Prior to returning to WKHS, Coach Groff served as Defensive Coordinator at Cincinnati Sycamore High School.

Michael Roman -- Face-Off Coordinator

Michael Roman is returning  in 2022 as Face-Off  Coordinator.

Michael is a 2015 graduate of Worthington Kilbourne and former letterman for Kilbourne Lacrosse.  After WKHS, Roman went on to play lacrosse at Otterbein University where he had a very successful face-off career, becoming a  two time  ALL-OAC Face-Off Award recipient. 

Mike Riffee - Director Of Operations

The 2023 season will be Coach Riffee's  18th season overall with the program.  In 2019, Coach Riffee served as Interim Head Coach for the Wolves.  He helped lead the Kilbourne Lacrosse to a Regional Final and was honored with the "OHSAA Sportsmanship Ethics and Integrity Award" for boys lacrosse for 2019. 

Previously, Coach Riffee served as the program's head coach from 2007-2009, winning the 2009 D1 State Championship and compiling a record of 55-13 (81%) during the three seasons.  Coach Riffee was named MSCLA, OHSLA and US Lacrosse Region (Ohio) Coach of the Year in 2008, and OCC Co-Coach of the Year in 2009.

Prior to joining the ranks on the Worthington Kilbourne lacrosse staff, Mike Riffee was the head coach at Perry Middle School for 3 years. Coach Riffee moved up to the Worthington Kilbourne lacrosse program in 2006 when he served as a JV coach. From 2007-2008, he was the head varsity coach. As the Co-Head Coach in 2009, the Wolves won their first state championship. His team’s record as Kilbourne's head coach was 55-13 (81%). Since his first “retirement” as head coach, Riffee has worked as the program’s Director of Operations as well as various other coaching responsibilities. From 2007-2018, the Kilbourne coaching staff has developed 12 All-Americans, 3 Academic All-Americans, 21 First Team All-Ohio players and 5 Ohio position players of the year. Kilbourne has had great team success in the past 11 years and has won 2 regional championships, 3 state runners-up titles and won 2 state championships. In 2013 after 30 years in Columbus City Schools and Worthington Schools, Riffee retired from teaching special education and physical education.

The 2023 season will be Coach Tabler’s 5th year with the program where he will again serve as a JV Assistant. 

Coach Tabler is a 2007 Worthington Kilbourne graduate whose class was the first to ever beat Upper Arlington and helped establish the playoff success (Final 4) prior to the class of 09 ultimately bringing home the program’s first state championship. 

Coach Tabler is an Ohio University graduate and holds a Masters degree from Capital University.
